Liquor-related diseases decline sharply in state after prohibition, say doctors

According to a recent study by researchers at IIT Kanpur, the prohibition on alcohol imposed in Bihar in April 2016 led to higher intake of calories, protein and healthy fats from nutritious food sources. The study found liquor prohibition led to a decline in consumption of packaged and processed foods, which are often complementary to liquor use.
