England on track to eliminate Hepatitis C virus, say health authorities

NHS England said that since the roll-out of pioneering antiviral drugs in 2015, over 100,000 people have been diagnosed and treated for Hep C. The state-funded health service administered treatment involves a free course of antiviral tablets lasting eight to 12 weeks, which it claims cures more than 95 per cent of cases.
